Dead Girl's Diary

Katherine Moenning

"I'm a woman, I know. You make them feel like shit when you don't call. You have to stop. In the name of all women, you have to stop."

-Chloe

The role of CHLOE will be portrayed by Katherine Moennig, recently picked by E! Entertainment as one of the "Sizzling 16 Stars To Watch 2004." Moennig moved from her native Philadelphia to New York at 18 and began a modeling career in order to put herself through the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Upon graduation, she began honing her craft on the stage where she appeared in notable productions that include: AS YOU LIKE IT, COMEDY OF ART, THE THEORY OF TOTAL BLAME and MORNING IN THE CITY at the Williamstown Theater Festival.

Moennig's first big break was her memorable turn in the Canadian band, Our Lady Peace's music video for "Is Anybody Home?" Notable guest starring roles on LAW AND ORDER and LAW AND ORDER: SVU followed. Further exposure came when she landed a series regular role on the cult WB show, THE YOUNG AMERICANS where she portrayed Jacqueline "Jake" Pratt, a woman who impersonates a man in order to attend an all-boys prep school. Strong reviews for her television work helped her snag small but head-turning roles opposite Kevin Spacey in Lasse Hallstrom's THE SHIPPING NEWS and Adrian Brody in LOVE THE HARD WAY.

Moennig can currently be seen as series regular "Shane McCutcheon" on Showtime's ground-breaking zeitgeist hit show, THE L WORD. Cast as the series bad girl with a love-them-and-leave-them attitude, Moennig emerged as the break-out star of the show, which has now been renewed for its third hit season. Moennig has also starred in the irreverent independent film, INVITATION TO A SUICIDE, and will next appear opposite John Malkovich in ART SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL directed by Terry Zwigoff (GHOST WORLD, BAD SANTA).
